Playlist Player

The convenient player plays all the scheduled items automatically, semi-automatically or manually. It can be used for non-stop broadcasts and live-assists broadcasts. Commercials, news and voice tracks are easily distinguishable by different colors. The intros, outros and transitions between items can be adjusted, even during the broadcast.

Crossover editor

Using the integrated crossover editor, it is easy to record voice tracks and mix them with other items. With a click on the button “autodetect cuepoints” the pre roll and outro will be set fully automatically. During the recording of voice tracks On Air Suite also restrains the music (auto-ducking) while you’re speaking. As you’re finished your recording On Air Suite takes care that the outro of the previous item joins with the intro point of your voicetrack. Voicetracking had never been so easy!

Please notice: On Air Suite also possesses an cue point detector. This detector scans the hole database and will set fully automatically the correct cue points for every item.

Crossover editor via internet

The crossover editor can also be used via a web interface. Herewith you have the possibility to record your voice tracks and mix them everywhere in the world.

Create scheduling rules and templates

With the use of scheduling rules you can manage all the rules that define your playlist. The rules are elaborate en flexible so you can create playlists, which are adjustable to your wishes and those of your listeners. Except for music the playlist also contain commands with which you can execute tasks like the controlling external equipment, picking up and broadcast news, broadcasting of a time-signal or broadcasting RDS information. Since the commands are very customizable, it is possible to automatically execute nearly every task you like.

Easy automation with commands

By using commands it is possible to largely automate broadcasting. Commands can perform certain tasks and can be placed in the templates or the playlist.
Below a list of some available commands:

  • 1. Autobreak (Provides a floating transition to a next item or hour)
  • 2. Autogoto (Provides a solid transition to a next item or hour)
  • 3. Commercial break from extern (Collects commercials planned by an external commercial planner)
  • 4. News track (Collects the news and plays it)
  • 5. Pause (in minutes) (Puts the player in pause)
  • 6. Play item from chart (Plays a certain number from a chart)
  • 7. Pulse to relay (Sends a pulse to a relayboard)

To all commands variables can be attached which help you to automate many actions for you.

Library

The library has advanced features for the storing of information about music, performers and musicians. Items are easily found with the help of quick search fields or advanced filters. It is possible to store a great deal of information about each item in the library. Besides looking up the characteristics of an item it is also possible to listen to it, watch it or edit it. It is also possible to indicate which RDS/RDBS messages should be broadcast with each item. Besides the standard characteristics it is also possible to create characteristics for each item on your own. Moreover the library is the central storage place for the commands, the RDS messages and everything else you need.

Carts

Carts are used to play items or a list of items. Herewith Carts are very flexible tools for live broadcasts. Each cart can be connected to an audio output, allowing the user to have as many carts as there are audio ports.

Jingle Player

With the help of the jingle player, also known as cart player or cart wall, it is possible to start items very quickly. The items can be dragged from the library and dropped into the jingle player, where they will we saved. The number of items you can save there is unlimited. You can control the jingle player with your mouse, with a touch screen or the Novation Launchpad.

Operating multiple radio stations

Besides regular broadcasting, our software excels in the operating of multiple stations. For this purpose you can create several stations inside On Air Suite for which you can create different playlists. Every station uses the central music database and can be controlled from On Air Suite. It is also possible to set different RDS messages for every station. With multiple stations  you are also able to quickly create (internet) channels or stations.

Working with editions

On Air Suite is designed to be able to work with multiple editions. Using our advanced edition system, you will be able to broadcast localised commercials, news and RDS/RDBS messages to different regions. Initially, one main radio station is created which is associated with multiple editions. The main radio station broadcasts the main playlist, while the editions only play the blocks, which differ from the main broadcast (i.e. local news and commercials).

The main station broadcasts the playlist up to the start of a different block. At this point, the different editions take charge of the broadcast. Every different edition starts an 'Edition Player'. The edition players then play one deviating block each. Every edition also can broadcast its own RDS messages.

When parallel deviating blocks differ in length, the shorter blocks will be supplemented with 'fillers'. Any item in the library is suitable for use as a filler including station-ID's, short music intros or free commercials. The placing of the fillers (start/end) is user defined.

Edition players can be installed onto any computer on the same network as On Air Suite's main program, including the computer running the main program. Control of the edition players is through TCP/IP and can be done using any normal LAN or WAN. The number of audio ports on the computer only limits the number of edition players connected to a computer. In addition, it's even possible to have multiple stations with multiple editions for each station.
